Warrior

Welcome to Tyria

There was a sale recently and so I decided to spend 10 bucks and finally try Guild Wars 2. Trying to remember how I would’ve described without having played it, this would probably include “fantasy MMO”, “frequent content updates”, “no subscription” and “Guild Wars 1 was kind of weird” (but I only saw it for an hour or two when someone showed it to me).
So yes, I’ve started levelling a Male Norn Warrior and managed to get to Level 17 on the weekend. I have 100% map completion in Wayfarer Foothills and Hoelbrak and it’s been enjoyable so far. Relatively unexciting, but that’s not a bad thing I guess. Plus I’d only played WoW for one month in the last ~9 months – so maybe I did miss my Fantasy MMOs?
The game is relatively easy to get into, had to look up a few things on various wikis and websites, but in general it seems newbie friendly, although combat can be clunky I think. We’ll see about this weapon switching and end game.

WildStar Updates

I haven’t done any dailies at 50 for ages, but there has been some other progress.
My Medic hit 35 and I enjoy playing her very much. Enough damage that it feels quick and a little healing so that I can solo 2man mobs.
When my Engineer ran out of rested XP at 16 I switched over to my Warrior again because he had loads, so now he’s 21 and I don’t want to repeat Galeras only a few days after I just did the quests. Doh, should’ve thought that through a little better.
I just went to grind out the Journeyman Tailoring achievement/tree thingy Enemy Patterns: Shatterforce Dominion which is a bit of a pain because you have to kill mobs in the Dominion quest hub Shatterforce Outpost. Luckily there are 5 mobs that can be killed on respawn if you stand right in the middle and because of Void Slip I can aggro everything else and kill the remaining ~8 mobs every minute. It took me about an hour of work while reading stuff on the second monitor. Not too bad. But apparently it’s bugged and I need to craft all 5 of them now. Time to farm or buy some lowbie cloth then…

Warlords of Draenor

Yep, I gave in. Was sick at home for over a week with the flu, so in the last days (on Thursday the 27th to be exact) I bought WoD, paid for  a month and started levelling. Still couldn’t really leave the house (just the way to the doctor and pharmacy had been hell earlier in the week), so I grabbed a big pot of tea, wrapped myself in a blanket and levelled my Rogue from 90 to 100 until Friday evening.
In the start I hated it. Or to be more precise, I didn’t have a lot of fun. It was just more of the same. I liked the abundance of Rares and Shinies to find and enjoy and the new Pickpocketing is ace. But overall, not too thrilling. It got a bit better as the garrison developed. Now I am sitting at iLvl 621 after the weekend after around 6 Heroics and my Warrior is already 93. Didn’t play WildStar in the last 4 days, so it can’t be that bad. I still don’t plan to raid – but we’ll see what will happen in these remaining 25 days. 🙂

LFR Tanking

My Alliance Warrior hit 90 a while ago and with Timeless Gear and a little drop luck in ToT I managed to get into SoO LFR quite soon. People were mostly horrible due to the “lol undergeared tank” but by not doing stupid things and sometimes explaining tactics they usually quieted down quickly. I’m approaching my guild’s gear requirement of ca. 520 for flex, hopefully next reset I’m done.
Other than that I took advantage of the Diablo 3 experience buff, my Wizard is nearly Level 50 and quite fun to play.
Trying out the WordPress Android App, seems to be quite nice.

LFR again

The Rogue mentioned in the last post has hit Level 90 after 3d 6h /played, grabbed some Timeless gear and is visiting ToT right now.

Apart from that our first hour of Algalon for the Herald feat was not successful, let’s hope for next week.

Meanwhile I dug out my Night Elf Prot Warrior that’s been levelled nearly exclusively via tanking 5mans till 63 a year or so ago. Current level is 80, yay Cataclysm.

Other than that, on my main’s server we’re now working on Heroic Spoils after a few weeks on Malkorok.

I cancelled my EVE subscription after 4 months, but I plan to come back. Other than that I just installed LoL and will hopefully try it soon with some colleagues.

Future plans include definitely WildStar and maybe Starbound.

World Events

Can’t stay away from the Voodoo. Seriously, I love them. Sometimes only to dust off some lowbie alt. (I most often refer to them as the “Army of Alts[tm]“) and have some fun and getting fancy titles and rewards.
My effort of the last years paid off already, I managed to get  the Brewmaster title 9x some weeks ago. And that was with less effort than some people had because I got the first achievement about 5min after logging in. OK, it involved some summoning magic into BRD, but it didn’t take long. Level 70 Brewmaster alt ftw.
Anyway, now it’s Hallow’s End. My main has it, of course (only missing the silly christmas hat for my violet drake :/), so the focus is on those:

Will probably pass on everything else besides trying to get the mount on my main, anyway, 2 fun weeks ahead when raiding is a bit boring, although I hope we can get some 25man action again.
